Culinary Torch

First thing that comes to mind? Yup! Creme brûlée... I've been psyched to use this new torch and am so pleased with it's ability so far. I purchased this one for 22$ at a store called Kitchen Collection, located at our local Outlet center. It came with a few Creme brûlée ramekins but were a little too small for my liking. I purchased flat circular ramekins (shown below) that did very well.

To make the Creme brûlée I used Barefoot Contessa's recipe (click here). It couldn't be anymore perfect - especially if you cover them before burning the tops, and let them sit in the fridge overnight. Easy to prepare prior to having company over.

I also look forward to using the torch in other recipes. Here are some examples to try: browning fancy mashed potatoes, crisping bread crumb toppings on Mac and cheese and casserole dishes, browning oatmeal, making smores, melting cheeses and much more!

I'd love to hear some other ideas that you use your torch for! Email me at KissMyApron@aol.com.
