Let me start out by telling you all how picky I am with steak.. I am the biggest spoiled brat with my steak - Filet Mignon if the only way to go in my eyes. Sometimes, I will even give into Porterhouse. Other than that, I stick my nose up at any other steak. I always get the "OMG but you are missing all the flavor!" -- No guys, I am trimming off all the fat! Can't stand a fatty steak.
My boyfriend Kevin, stopped at the store on the way home from work yesterday and told the butcher about his psycho girlfriend who only eats filet mignon. Kevin asked him for a cut that isn't fatty but still flavorful. The butcher pulled out a beautiful sirloin and trimmed the fat off for us. WOOHOO! 18$ later, we were all ready to BBQ this baby up.
Can't really go wrong with this marinade - you can add anything you please. I let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes (while I prepped the homemade sweet potato fries and garlic shrimp). Hope y'all enjoy it as much as we did!
1/2 cup Olive Oil
1.4 cup Worcestershire Sauce (I can never say that word correctly to save my life! lol)
3 garlic cloves, chopped
2 tbs Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick
1 tbs Onion Powder
1 tbs red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tbs Italian Seasoning
Salt & pepper
1. Mix ingredients together in a marinade dish.
2. Marinate up to 2 hours in refrige - I only did 20 minutes (turning it over halfway thru) because we were in a rush. 20 minutes still provided the steak with so much flavor!
3. BBQ Steak for desired cook time. 14 minutes (7 min each side) for the below pink.
